IFM Electronics OF5012 diffuse reflection photoelectric sensor is made of brass nickel-plated housing and PMMA lens. It features DC PNP electrical design, 10 to 36V DC operating voltage, <35mA current consumption. It is used for distance measurement operates according to the time-of-flight principle. A light beam is emitted and reflected by an object. The time the light beam takes for the distance from the unit to the object and back from the object to the unit is measured. Since the speed of light is constant, the distance can be calculated on the basis of the time of flight.
